10.1

Screeching of metal piercing the air followed abruptly by a boom that could be heard for miles, concluded with defining silence.

Thigs don't always work out as they plan

DEVIN: Ughhhhh!
JAZZ: You know it's your own fault.
DEVIN: How?!
JAZZ: you keep canceling on everyone else so they're going to cancel on you
DEVIN: So? This took me so long to get everything together!
JAZZ: Please, you had off cause you boss is stuck in England and you texted everyone to meet you at the park and get pizza.
DEVIN: And?! How do they know I didn't reserve a big table for everyone? That's expensive here you know!?
JAZZ: As expensive as Julie's birthday cruse that you bailed on the night before?
DEVIN: That's different.
JAZZ: How?
DEVIN: She was my girlfriend-
JAZZ: Which makes it worse.
DEVIN: and she should have known I don't like boats.
JAZZ: Really? That's your excuse?
DEVIN: Were not talking about cruises were talking about getting together as a group of really good friends for a nice lunch and catch up.
JAZZ: Ohhhh! So you mean like what Marc, Lisa, Jerry, Andrew, Blake, Steff, and EVERYONE else in the group has been doing on Saturday's at the dinner? That we invite you to but you always say no.
DEVIN: Well-
JAZZ: No. you don't have an excuse, you're sister shows up and spills how you're just home watching TV.
DEVIN: I'm sorry.
JAZZ: You should be.
DEVIN: I'll come this weekend.
JAZZ: Good.
DEVIN: You're pretty upset about this.
JAZZ: Well yah, you've missed a lot. Marc proposed to Lisa, Steff is pregnant again.
DEVIN: Shit, I did miss a lot. But why are you upset about it?
JAZZ: (whispers) Cause it's more fun when your there...
DEVIN: Oh?
JAZZ: Never mind. Forget I said anything. (Starts to get up to leave)
DEVIN: (grabs her hand) I'm sorry. (Kisses her)
JAZZ: Wh-what was that for?
DEVIN: Not realizing it sooner. Jazz, your always there for me no matter what, even if I'm being an ass, which I know is often. I'm sorry it took till now for me to realize my feelings for you.

Happiness

Sitting on the freezing bench with the cold Georgia morning air blowing through the bleachers, I can barely contain myself! It's been 2 months and 3 days since I've seen Sean. We got in early evening yesterday and woke up before the sun this morning to get here in time for the briefing for his Sargent. There's a loud yell and the  first platoon comes out and does there thing and runs back. This is it! I have my phone out and start recording as soon as I hear company two yelling from beyond the hill. Where is he? Not tall enough... he's tall but no glasses... His mom mom taps my leg and points.
"There he is" Stevie, his youngest brother, says excitedly. Yep, there he is. I have a smile from ear to ear. He's so handsome, marching tall and proud. After the whole company finishes showing off we get to go down and find out Soldiers in amongst the green sea. I look over at his mom and stepdad anxiously excited.
"Go ahead, find him." She says sweetly. And with that his brothers and I run off to find him on the blacktop. I know my Seanie and I see him right away, we make eye contact and he smiles brighter. I run faster, darting between all the other happy reunions and hug him tight. This is home. This is happy.

9.9

Ian and Isabell (Izzy) Gallagher  were born May 11, 1996 just two minutes apart. From the start they had a special connection , holding each other in the hospital. They would share a one seat stroller or even split a cookie so neither would be hungrier than the other. When they were five , their mother, Monica, threw them a big birthday party in the park with all the neighborhood kids. Monica wasn't paying attention as usual and a man tried to kidnap Izzy. Ian was on the other side of the playground where there was no way to see Izzy, but he got their older sister, Fiona's attention. After Izzy was safe, Fiona asked how Ian knew Izzy was in trouble. Ian couldn't explain it, he just had a feeling. This strange "feeling" happened more as they got older as well. When they were 10, Ian got into a fight on his way home from the store. Before or he even got home Izzy asked their neighbor Ve, who was a nurse, to come over. About 5 minutes later Ian walked in with a bloody nose and a sprained wrist. When they were 12, Fiona asked them to put away groceries and she watched as they would toss each other things without even looking. This "feeling" also came in handy when they were 18 and Ian went for a drive after a fight with Fiona and they couldn't find him for almost 12 hours. Izzy had a feeling he was somewhere near a gas station on Rt 89. Sure enough, when they drove down 89, they found his car out of gas and picked him up as he was getting to the gas station about three miles down.  Even now on their 20th birthday, they enjoy freaking out their family and friends by blowing out their candles at the same time with their eyes closed.

Ch9 warm up

In a cave on a new planet that the star gate has discovered. Jonna, Marc and Cal are on their first mission without the main crew. Jonna wants to venture further into the caves and find out where the light is coming from but Cal wants to find a way out. Marc is trying to keep them from fighting and direct their attention to the fact that each cave entrance they go through they keep getting more lost. All of a sudden they reach where the light is and find a vast city but no one there. It is as if the city is buzzing with invisible people.

That one spot we all go to

Being so north it's quite cold here in the winter. However the summers still exist, just not like the ones you see in the movies in Florida or California. Chicago also doesn't have the huge beaches like the cost, at least where we are, the only "beach" is a cement walkway that cuts off to rocks that have been washed up by faint lake current when it's not iced over. There's one section that has big enough rocks, or bolder I guess you can call them, that are the perfect distance apart to just be able to jump across them (just make sure it's not too icy) to a huge bolder you can fit about 4-5 people on. We often meet up there if anything is bothering us. The faint lake current makes just enough sound to be soothing and on the hot sunny days there's a perfect cool breeze coming off Canada. On the other hand, in the winter not many people will try to bother you when your that far out. More then that, when you look out into the horizon, sometimes all your worries just fade away due to the vast nothingness, no matter what the season.
Isabell Carter Gallagher.
What a sweet name, but never call her that if you know what's good for you. Izzy (or Iz) will do just fine. She has long wavy red hair unlike her twin who keeps his as a buzz cut and it doesn't smell of the stereotypical "strawberries" or "roses", but more like second hand cigarettes with a dab of weed and garnier fructis shampoo, not what normal people would enjoy but somehow it works for her. Being the third oldest of seven and having a twin brother, most of the time she's wearing a tee shirt and/or hoodie (most likely Ian's) with jeans. She doesn't try to show off, unlike most girls here in Chicago who's life ambition is to be the best exotic dance but in reality will wind up on the street corner. Izzy is the type of girl who could go places, get out of this town, if only she realized it. I guess it might be in part because of the amount of time she spends with Ian and Lip who don't even know she sings. The three of them are always together, or if not all three, two of them, always causing some type of trouble. Iz is just one of the guys with them and I think she feels more comfortable that way.

3.3 getting outraged over nothing... well kinda

How in the world could anyone in their right mind even comprehend doing such a thing! It's not there is a sign or anything. Pshhhhh why would some put a laminated sign with descriptive instructions (including pictures with arrows) on how the very expensive and delicate mini computer and switcher system that connects the computers to the TV works? I mean seriously! There are two buttons: "Mac mini" and "HDMI/VGA" and each are labeled accordingly. You want the Mac mini: press "Mac mini". You want to plug in your own computer with the HDMI or VGA: press "HDMI/VGA" the cables for which ARE RIGHT NEXT TO IT! We even installed it so you can be on the other side of the table and still have enough cable to run. We wrote on it kindly "please contact AV support for any assistance at  AVstaff@CSHL.edu and not attempt to take the system apart." WE SCREWED THE CABLES TO THE F*CKING TABLE! And what do the smart scientists and other conference attendees (who are using the room to talk to people in say Harvard and other places) do? THEY RIP OUT THE CABLES TRYING TO CONNECT THEIR COMPUTERS TO THE TV!
- actual problems at my job... you would think the people curing cancer would be able to read a sign.
